High resolution artwork is important because stickers are printed at a physical size, not just viewed on a screen. A file that looks fine on a phone can still print blurry if it does not contain enough pixels for the final sticker size.

What resolution means

Resolution describes how much image detail is available. For raster artwork such as JPG, PNG, or flattened artwork, we recommend at least 300 DPI at the final print size.

DPI matters because it connects the pixel count of the file to the physical size of the print. A small image stretched to a larger sticker size can become soft, jagged, or pixelated.

Why high resolution files print better

  • Sharper detail: Fine lines, small text, and illustrated details are more likely to print cleanly.
  • Better scaling: Larger files give more room to size artwork without losing quality.
  • Cleaner edges: High resolution artwork helps curved edges, logos, and text look smoother.
  • Fewer production issues: Clear artwork is easier to prepare for print and proofing.

Resolution is not the same as colour accuracy

High resolution helps with sharpness and detail, but it does not guarantee exact colour matching. Print colour is affected by the artwork colour profile, screen settings, ink, material, laminate, and specialty finishes.

For colour, CMYK is preferred where available. RGB files can still be supplied, but some colours may shift when prepared for print.

Before uploading your artwork

  • Use at least 300 DPI at the final print size for raster artwork.
  • Do not rely on simply changing the DPI number after the artwork is finished if the pixel dimensions are too small.
  • Check that text and fine details are readable at the intended sticker size.
  • Supply vector artwork where possible for logos, text, and cutlines.

If your artwork is too low resolution, we may contact you before production. Upload the best quality file you have, and we will send a digital proof before printing.
